cool hair dry hairThe cooler temperatures are fast approaching and now is the time to treat your sun drenched summer tresses to a well-deserved trim. Yes, trim! Your hair ends will be grateful not to mention stay healthy and strong during the cooler months. This is also the time of year when you must keep your hair highly moisturized. Don’t be shy to use your heavier oils! In Jamaica, we like to say ‘daub yuh hair’.

The heavier the oil the better. This is where products like Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil or Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil Hair Food come in. From cleansing the scalp, sealing, protecting and moisturizing. They get the job done! Keep your hair highly moisturized!

If you experience excessive dryness during the fall and winter seasons due to the cooler temps then protective styles are a priority. Trim your ends and use heavy moisturizing shampoos and conditioners. We suggest Tropic Isle Living Strong Roots Shampoo and Conditioner with Red Pimento to gently cleanse and restore deep moisture to the scalp and hair. Saturate your scalp with Tropic Isle Living Strong Roots Red Pimento Hair Growth Oil or Jamaican Black Castor Oil and Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil Hair Food.

It is very important to keep a healthy clean scalp all year round so if protective styles are your choice – Faux locs, box braids or extensions it is important that you keep the scalp clean weekly. Simply apply apple cider vinegar to cleanse scalp (use a cotton based cloth). After which you can always reapply your Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil and/or Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil Hair Food. Both promotes blood circulation and hair strength.
